More information at www.savoie-route.fr
How should I prepare my car?
The ideal situation is for your car to be equipped with winter tyres which are adapted to driving in the mountains and severe winter conditions. If this isn’t possible, it is imperative that you use chains on your tyres, that you can leave in your car in case of large amounts of snowfall.

Advice: remember to keep your chains handy and easily accessible in your car boot.

If you have to put chains on, there are several chaining areas on the side of the roads, particularly the Viclaire chaining area which is located in the direction of the slope, a few kilometres from Sainte Foy where the road starts to incline and become steeper. questions about sainte foy

I have booked accommodation in one of the villages in Sainte Foy that isn’t near the station. How can I get to the ski station if I don't have a car?

Sainte Foy organizes a free daily inter-village shuttle service to the ski resort.
You can find out about the timetables on the website of the Tourist Office
How is the snow in Sainte Foy during winter?
You are right to ask us this question because winter is better with snow

Sainte Foy benefits from an exceptional location with the particularity of being sheltered from the winds and benefiting from a weather phenomenon called the "retour d'est". Sainte Foy is not a low altitude resort. From 1550 meters high at the village, with a summit that reaches 2600 meters... Sainte Foy is one of the stations known for its high altitude.

2 Autumns ago, Sainte Foy decided to open its slopes only to ski clubs from November 20th. The goal was for them to take advantage of privileged snow conditions before the opening of the ski resorts. The French Ski Team was not mistaken and take advantage of this early opening every year to tread the local snow before the Critérium of Val d'Isère far from the excitement.

Is it possible to go shopping in Sainte Foy?
Yes, of course. During the winter season and the summer holidays, you will find on site :
- supermarkets, bakeries (at the resort and in the main town)
- a minipharmacy** at the station.
- or delicatessens to buy Savoyard products (cold meats, wines, jams, etc.),
- newsstands
- shops selling winter sports clothing and equipment for skiing, snowboarding, and ski touring.
- and souvenir shops.

** The nearest pharmacy is in Séez or Val d'Isère.
